Application · Postnatal recovery

After childbirth. Back to you.

Pregnancy and childbirth put a lot of strain on the pelvic floor. Good Vibes complements classic postnatal recovery: 28 minutes seated, fully clothed, without having to do exercises yourself. You can start once you have medical clearance.

In everyday life

Life after the postpartum weeks.

For nine months, your pelvic floor helped carry the load. After the birth it needs time, and you need something that fits into everyday life with a baby.

  • no earlier than 8 weeks after a vaginal birth
  • no earlier than 12 weeks after a C-section
  • always only after medical clearance
  • as a complement to a postnatal recovery class, not a replacement

Background

What pregnancy means for the pelvic floor

During pregnancy, the pelvic floor carries the weight of the baby, the amniotic fluid and the placenta. After a natural birth, the muscles are often stretched and the tissue needs time.

Many women notice this as a feeling of pressure, or realize when sneezing or exercising that they lack support in their core. That’s nothing unusual after giving birth. Talk about it with your midwife or your doctor.

Postnatal class and HIFEM: two building blocks

Classic postnatal recovery classes work with conscious contractions, breathing, body awareness and posture. That is important and worthwhile.

Good Vibes can complement this work. The electromagnetic stimulation also engages the deep layers that can hardly be activated consciously. It does not replace the class.

When you can start

No earlier than 8 weeks after a vaginal birth, 12 weeks after a C-section, and always only after medical clearance. The training is not suitable while breastfeeding in the period right after birth; when it’s right for you is something you clarify individually.

The recommendation is 6 to 8 sessions. A session lasts 28 minutes, and you stay fully clothed throughout.

At the studio

Seated, clothed, 28 minutes.

You sit down on the Good Vibes chair, clothed. The electromagnetic field stimulates the pelvic floor muscles to contract; you don’t have to do any exercises yourself. Beforehand, your studio discusses with you whether the training is right for you.
